It’s Time To Set Your Spring Quarterly Plan

March 1

IT’S TIME

It's Time To Set Your Spring Quarterly Plan

Time to set your Spring Quarterly Plan for Connection, Intentional and Compassionate Self-care.

Time to Treat Yourself as loving and kind as you Treat your ill Loved One.  Time to check into yourself and see where you can make small changes, even big changes as you learn to not just say the words but explore ways to “Take Care of Yourself”.

WHY:

  • You are the Caregiver. You must Take Care of Yourself if you are caring for an ill Loved One. It’s very easy to get caught up in all the things you must do while caring for a Loved One and easy to find yourself overwhelmed.
  • You can learn to nurture yourself as you nurture your Loved One.
  • You can learn to thrive and grow as a Caregiver.
  • With a plan in place every quarter, just like a business, you can check your progress which will help you stay focused on you and your self-care.
  • The plan begins helping you become Intentional in your self-care, and intentional self-care will give you the strength, power, and compassion to continue to care for an ill-loved one without losing yourself.
  • Provides an outlet for things gone wrong and helps you be accountable, and celebrate things gone right.
  • And…it just might be fun. Here’s how to get started.
  • Buy an inexpensive spiral notebook, like you would have used for school and a pen you love writing with. I use a G2 pen and ink from Pentel because it flows easily on most paper. But there are many kinds of pens you can choose from and an endless variety of colors like Flairs or Sharpies) if you enjoy writing in different colors. Experiment!
  • And you can start today. We are just a few days away from the Second Quarter of 2025, (March, April, May). So let’s get started.
  • Keep in mind this is your journal. For your eyes only. You do not need to share it with anyone else.

Begin your first page with the following layout and then you can write notes every day to check your progress or make notes when you can. The First Quarter format should include the following:

This is what my 2025 Journal looked like for first quarter:

FIRST QUARTER: December, January, February 2025

FEBRUARY 2025

  • My Mantra: Let It Go, Let It Flow
  • My goals for this quarter: Finish my Memoir, daily practice of Buddha Palm, Pay attention to Silence to feel the Pull, and Be Kind to Myself.

What will you be working on? Will you make time do something just for yourself: (read, practice a dance, write in my journal, meditate, take a nap, enjoy a cup of tea uninterrupted, call a friend, etc) every day or 3 days a week. Start off small and see how it goes.

Second Quarter: Spring (March, April, May) 2025

MARCH 2025

My Mantra: (whatever you choose to practice every day for the month of March)

Example Mantras: I am a Caregiver, I am Strong
Be Kind to Myself
Nurture Myself Every Day
Take Time Every Day for a Pause
Stop-Look-Listen
I am Grateful for______
(God, The Universe, My Higher Power) is with me and gives me strength

My goal(s) for this quarter:

These are your ideas or one idea you want to focus on for yourself:

Examples: I will make time to_______just for me: (read, practice a dance, write in my journal, meditate, take a nap, enjoy a cup of tea uninterrupted, call a friend, etc) every day.

I’m not sure right now, but I’ll make a list of what I love to do that nurtures me and decide what I want to work on.

Now that you have the month of March set up, practice going to your journal every day at a time that works for you, and write how you feel, (or draw an emoji), and your plan today for taking care of yourself. You can fill one page or twenty pages. Sometimes once you begin writing all kinds of feelings and ideas spill out onto the page.

Keep a Lookout for Coming Soon where you can join me online for a fun group class with other caregivers as we create and decorate a quarterly journal.

And as always, if you have any questions, drop me an email. I want to help you Take Care of Yourself and Thrive.
