Upcoming: Classes for Caregivers

January 15

Happy New Year…and I hope this post finds you Happy, Healthy, and Taking Very Good
Care of Yourself.

I’m excited to announce that I will begin hosting classes for Caregivers on Zoom this year.

These classes will be limited to Family Caregivers, that is a person who cares for an ill Loved One at home. And that person may be a wife, husband, son, daughter, friend, neighbor, a sibling. These classes will not be available for paid Caregivers, (example those that work in nursing facilities as an employee.) I believe those paid employees who provide caregiving in facilities should have support and care from their employer.

The classes will be designed to:

  • Bring fun and creative play into your life. Because creative processes allow us Family Caregivers to move into flow. And flowing allows us to slow down and relax, have fun, and try something different; like a spa visit for your swirling, “have to” Caregiver Brain …a mini vacation
  • You don’t have to be an artist, a writer, a poet, a seamstress, a singer, dancer (any of those “creative” descriptions
  • All you need is to do is be a Family Caregiver who would like to take a break and relax without leaving your home or trying to find someone to sit with your ill Loved One.
  • A place to connect with other Family Caregivers without having to “get ready”, you can come to the Zoom classes in your pajamas if you wish…maybe we’ll even have a pajama day!
  • And, these classes are designed by a Family Caregiver, for Family Caregivers, respecting the work you do and your precious time.

My first class is set for February 4, 2026, at 2:00 PM, EST. The class will last one hour. If you need to leave early that’s OK. If you have an issue or emergency with your ill Loved One and have to leave, that’s OK. That is all part of a Caregiver’s Life.

I will send you a PDF of suggestions for supplies for the class. I’ll also send you a downloadable drawing you can trace or use. You’ll have everything you need when the class begins. And because this is for Caregivers who want a break from Caregiving, I suggest you find a quiet spot, a separate room where you can be by yourself and not interrupted by your ill Loved One (yet able to help in an emergency). You can’t “Get in the Flow with children or other family members milling around. This is YOUR time.

I remember having a long discussion with my husband when I attended my first Zoom class. He didn’t like me going to another room and closing the door. “What if I need you? What if I can’t get out of my chair and need you? And so, it went. I patiently explained I needed this quiet hour with the Caregiving Group I was attempting to attend online. I reviewed my plan several times of how I am there to help if needed. He can call out, tap on the door remembering I am on Zoom which means anything he says or does will be to the group of folks. And he will have his image on Zoon if he comes in the room. I reassured him about half an hour before the class started and made sure, he had everything he needed by his chair. And it worked. He didn’t like it at first, but discovered I was a happier person the weeks I attended the class.

So…. you may be wondering what the class is all about????

It’s all about LOVE because February is the month of Valentine’s Day:

HANDS TO HEART

A practice where we explore our loving Caregiving Hands

And

How they are tied to our Big Caregiving Hearts

If you are interested in taking this class, send me an email today that you are interested and I’ll be sure to send you a reminder in the next few weeks to register once it is set up. Once you register, I’ll send you a link to the Zoom Class, a supply list and PDF you can download. I’m so excited and looking forward to having some love and fun with all of you.

SEE YOU IN FEBRUARY
